DEAR SENIOR NURSING STUDENT/NEW GRADUATE

Thank you so much for your interest in a New Graduate Nursing position at UNC Health Care!

THESE INSTRUCTIONS APPLY ONLY TO NEW GRADUATE NURSES WHO CAN BEGIN WORKING IN SUMMER 2012. IF YOU CANNOT BEGIN WORKING IN SUMMER 2012, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY AT THIS TIME.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED FEBRUARY 14, 2012 – MAY 21, 2012 INSTRUCTIONS: Please read carefully.

Submit an online application. We have posted one job requisition to collect all new graduate nurse applications. As you complete your application, you will be required to answer the job-specific questions listed in the PRE-SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE section. Please do not check all areas that are listed. Our goal is to find an area that best fits your interests based upon your responses. List your current GPA on your application. In the PRE-SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE section of the application, you must list your current GPA at the school from which you will receive your nursing degree.

• Mail/bring in the following two UNC Heath Care required documents to Nursing Employment:

1. A REFERENCE CHECKLIST completed by any nursing faculty at your nursing school.
2. A REFERENCE CHECKLIST completed by a nursing faculty at your nursing school who supervised you in the clinical setting (not the preceptor at your clinical setting unless your preceptor and your professor are one in the same).
   *THE REFERENCE CHECKLIST IS PROVIDED BY UNC NURSING EMPLOYMENT AND CAN BE PRINTED FROM THE LINK BELOW:

Please do not email documents or attach documents to online application.

• Mail/bring in your official transcript to Nursing Employment.
  Your official transcript must be in the original sealed envelope. We only need the transcript from the school that will be awarding you your nursing degree and not from any previous schools. Please do not wait until the end of the semester to request a transcript. Mail documents to the address below.
• Our recruiters will review the completed applications and select the most qualified candidates to interview. Completed applications consist of the following:

1. Online application (including GPA and Job-specific questions)
2. Two Reference Checklists
3. Official Transcript

Your application will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed unless all of the above items have been submitted to UNC Nursing Employment.

• Shadowing may be allowed for new grads only as part of the interview process and at the discretion of the manager.
